National Humanities Alliance Executive Director Jessica Irons Stepping Down

In January, National Humanities Alliance (NHA) Executive Director Jessica Jones Irons announced that she was stepping down effective February 1, 2012. Ms. Irons and her family are relocating to the New York City area later this spring.

Ms. Irons will continue to provide support on a consulting basis through the end of March in order to help see the Alliance through its upcoming Annual Meeting and Humanities Advocacy Day, as well as the beginning of the FY 2013 congressional appropriations cycle.

Duane Webster, former NHA Board member and Executive Director Emeritus of the Association of Research Libraries, will serve as Interim Director of the National Humanities Alliance until a replacement has been named. A long-time member representative to the Alliance, Webster has served NHA in a number of capacities over the years, most recently as chair of the organization’s Committee on Libraries and Intellectual Property.
