Congressional History Caucus Recruitment Effort Underway

Over the past two years, NCH worked with the offices of Congressmen John Larson (D-CT), Tom Cole (R-OK), Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) and Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) to create and promote a caucus related to history.

The purpose of the caucus is to provide a forum for members of Congress to share their interest in history and to promote an awareness of the subject on Capitol Hill. NCH leadership felt it was important for the historical community to be perceived as a resource by Congress instead of just another constituent seeking funding. The key to success on Capitol Hill is having relationships in place before you need them. The History Caucus will increase NCH’s visibility and provide a network of supporters in Congress that we can reach out to when issues arise.

NCH has an ambitious goal of attracting twenty new caucus members by June 1, 2015. The creation of the Congressional History Caucus is one of the most significant initiatives NCH has inaugurated and we trust our enthusiastic network of stakeholders will help promote this important endeavor.
