National Archives Seeks Input on Digital Preservation Framework

The National Archives and Records Administration is seeking public comment and discussion on its digital preservation framework, which consists of the agency’s approach to determining risks faced by electronic files, and plans for preserving different types of file formats. The deadline for submitting comments is November 1, 2019, on GitHub. In June, the Office of Management and Budget issued a memorandum (M-19-21, Transition to Electronic Records) to Federal agencies to transition business processes and record keeping to a fully electronic environment. The National Archives will end acceptance of paper records on December 31, 2022.
