Society for History in the Federal Government Annual Meeting

The Society for History in the Federal Government (SHFG) will hold its annual meeting on March 31, 2011, at the National Archives at College Park, MD. The conference program and on-line registration are available at the SHFG website.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Federal History in Times of National Crisis and Change.” The program presents a wide-ranging group of panels that draw upon the full sweep of U.S. federal history, from the founding era to the twenty-first century. Participants will interpret this theme broadly to include political, economic, social, or cultural crises or turning points that have shaped the history of the federal government or in which the federal government has played a central role.

The SHFG annual conference and meeting showcases new scholarship on federal history and the activities of federal history programs in a wide variety of venues. The program includes the Roger R. Trask Lecture by a distinguished member of the federal history community, a luncheon, and awards ceremony.
