First Volume of Obama Presidential Papers Published

Archivist David S. Ferriero, Director of the Federal Register Ray Mosley, and Public Printer Bill Boarman recently presented President Barack Obama with the first volume of the Public Papers of Barack Obama in an Oval Office ceremony.

Produced by the National Archives Office of the Federal Register and the U.S. Government Printing Office, the 1,084-page volume includes a foreword by President Obama, along with his public writings, addresses, remarks and photographs that took place from January 20-June 30, 2009.

The Public Papers of the Presidents series includes volumes documenting the administrations of Presidents Hoover, Truman and Eisenhower to Obama. The Public Papers of the President are published twice a year and cover a six-month period. The publication is edited and annotated by Office of the Federal Register and is the authoritative record of presidents used by scholars, researchers and the public.
