NARA Seeks Input on “Managing Government Records” Presidential Directive

The National Archives and Records Administration recently announced the start of a public information gathering effort related to the Presidential Memorandum on Managing Government Records. The Memorandum was issued on November 28, 2011 and directs agencies to develop a 21st-century framework for records management.

This action marks the start of an executive branch-wide effort to reform records management policies and practices.

Records and information management professionals, vendors, and the general public are all invited to participate in this process. NARA has set up the Managing Government Records IdeaScale at https://govrecordmanagement.ideascale.com/ as a forum to solicit comments. The website will be open for comments until March 27, 2012.
