President Obama Nominates Colby College President to Chair NEH

On April 10, President Obama announced his intent to nominate Dr. William “Bro” Adams as the new Chairman of the National Endowment of the Humanities. Dr. Adams is President of Colby College, a position he has held since 2000. Previously, he was President of Bucknell University from 1995 to 2000. The position has been vacant since the retirement of former-chairman Jim Leach in May 2013.

Dr. Adams’ confirmation hearing has not yet been scheduled yet in the Senate, however his nomination is considered non-controversial and is expected to be approved.
