House Appropriations Committee Restores Proposed Cuts in NEH FY 15 Budget

On July 15, the House Appropriations Committee adopted the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies FY 15 funding bill. The Appropriations Committee included $146 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The Committee added $8 million in funding for the NEH, up from the $138 million level recommended by the Interior appropriations subcommittee.

However, to put the FY 15 funding level in perspective, NEH has received $146 million every year since FY 12 (with the exception of FY 13 when the NEH received $138 million after the imposition of the budget sequester).

Thank you to everyone who responded to the legislative alert on NEH funding that was issued last week. It clearly had an impact on the outcome.
