The US Senate today voted (52-45) to confirm Dr. Colleen Joy Shogan to serve as the 11th Archivist of the United States. NCH congratulates Dr. Shogan. We look forward to working with her on the many challenges facing the National Archives.

Recently the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) developed a detailed set of recommendations suggesting much-needed reforms of the federal government rules and regulations controlling the declassification of federal and presidential records.
